    Category: Maintenance / Security Compliance

    Impact: Action required

Components: Shipup × Zendesk Support App, Shipup × Zendesk API Integration

    Summary

Zendesk is deprecating legacy private key authentication for third-party integrations.

To remain compliant and secure, both of Shipup’s integrations with Zendesk will transition to OAuth authentication in January.

All existing Zendesk connections must be re-authenticated before January 31, 2026.

    Impact

    • All merchants using a Zendesk integration are affected:

      • Shipup Support App

      • Shipup API Integration

    • Current connections will continue to operate until the deadline.

    • After February 1, any non-migrated connection will stop functioning, impacting:

      • The ability to create Zendesk tickets from Shipup

      • The ability to view Shipup tracking information within Zendesk

    Required action

    No action required yet.

    Starting in January:

    • Support App users: reinstall the app via the Zendesk Marketplace and authorize using OAuth.

    • API Integration users: re-connect via Shipup Back Office using the “Authenticate with Zendesk” button.

You will only need to complete this once per integration.

    Next steps

    We will publish:

    • Step-by-step migration guide

    • Screenshots / flow details

    • Reminder notifications before deadline

Another update will be posted here when the new OAuth connection is live.

    Notes

    • We are making this change in compliance with Zendesk security policies.

    • OAuth improves security and compliance across the integration layer.
